Who We Are
CanWest Environmental, is an integrated environmental services firm offering BOTH compliance education and project management, with field technicians specializing in preparing sampling plans, collecting samples, transportation & reporting. With a focus on planning and collecting licensed lead testing of drinking water for schools and childcare centres to provide regulatory interpretation and full compliance with O. Reg. 243/07, we provide results quickly and accurately.
A Strong History in Testing, Compliance and Project Management
The CanWest Environmental laboratory was founded collaboratively in 2017, to expand from milk analysis (for butterfat, crude protein, true protein, lactose, total solids, solids-not-fat and other solids to include lead testing in drinking water. This expansion included accreditation through the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) and licensing through the MOECC (Ministry of the Environment & Climate Change). Much of 2017-2018 was spent on education outreach to Ontario school Boards, private schools and licensed daycares on the new O.Reg. 243/07 amendments.
In 2019, the business decision was made to focus on compliance education, regulatory interpretation and the project management steps of strategic planning, sample collection, transport and results communication. CanWest Environmental now uses the high level of laboratory expertise and experience to assist school boards, private schools and regulated daycare centres to understand and achieve regulatory compliance, specifically as it pertains to lead testing in regulated drinking water.
